What does your company do?

Ananya (Sanskrit for ‘without equal’) is a luxury design company specialising in creating beautiful wedding and personal stationery. The design team at ananya understands that getting married is one of life’s most important events and bridal couples want the whole experience to reflect their uniqueness. Following an in-depth consultation with the couple, ananya will create a portfolio of wedding stationery, unique to that couple’s dreams and desires. The service covers all stages of the design process from the initial concept to completion.

What makes your company unique and different?

Ananya means ‘without equal’, and that inspires us to live up to the name and our vision, creating something that is very different and truly reflects who the couple are. The ananya style exudes elegance, sophistication and a touch of the exotic and we are known for our professional and personalised service. With our attention to detail, we combine all the key elements that make a personal statement about a couple. The ananya products have a signature deluxe feel, combining Eastern and European design elements with metallic inks and hand embellished crystals. Our vision is to use our passion for perfection, style and multicultural sensibility to explore new ways to create something of unique value to the couple; something they will cherish and remember for the rest of their lives. What a perfect way to symbolise one of the most important days of their lives!

What services do you offer brides and grooms to be?

We can design a whole suite of wedding related stationery, including invitations, thank you cards, order of service, menus, place cards, seating plans, table numbers, and monograms as well as personal stationery that makes a statement about you. However, our services stretch further than just the design. If required, we would also be pleased to offer guidance on other related aspects such as wording, etiquette and timing.

What is your most popular product/service this year, and why do you think this is?

One recent trend that is gaining momentum is a personal monogram or marque created for your wedding stationery. Partly inspired by fashion designers such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Dior who use them extensively in their designs, they have now become a popular choice in wedding stationery, defining you and your image as a couple. Our brides have loved this idea and the fact that the monogram can be used beyond the wedding and in your new life together. Use it on gift tags, correspondence cards, change of address cards or baby announcements etc.

What trend are you noticing amongst your wedding clientele?

We are noticing an increase in multicultural weddings for our clients. Here at ananya, we have a multicultural approach and excel at creating stationery that is a beautiful fusion of cultures for our mixed and multicultural couples. If you are having a multicultural wedding, you are naturally sensitive about respecting the values and traditions of both cultures. We would look to see if there are any themes or aspects that are common to both cultures e.g. ananya recently designed stationery for an Indian Scottish wedding, where we used paisley as a motif because our research showed that the paisley had symbolic significance to both cultures. To harmonise the two cultures further, we also used a green background to match the tartan and the paisley in deep pink to give it a rich and exotic Indian look.

Why do you like working in the wedding industry?

One of the best parts of working in the wedding industry is being able to share the couple’s joy for their big day. No matter what work we are doing or how hard it is we are always working towards an enjoyable occasion. It’s great to see hard work paying off in such a lovely way

Why do you think couples choose your company as opposed to your competitors?

Our clients have told us that they love our style and that ananya conveys exotic elegance, sophistication and luxury. They say we offer something that is very different and truly reflects who they are as a couple. Many of our clients are multicultural and they feel the invitations respect the values and traditions of both cultures. They appreciate our attention to detail and our professional and personalised service. In addition, our clients benefit from our wealth of experience and knowledge related to other aspects of the wedding such as wording, allocating budget and directory of suppliers in the industry (hopefully helping to ease unnecessary stress for their big day!).

What single piece of advice would you give to couples planning their wedding?

We would say that couples should remember that their wedding and wedding stationery is a reflection of who they are as a couple, so it should be like a personal statement about them. To add that all important personal touch, one idea would be to choose themes that have a special meaning to the bride and groom. The theme would then be the basis for the design process and will give a sense of continuity and conformity throughout. For example, it could be a certain motif or a shared favourite colour between the two. One of ananya’s brides had chosen to wear her favourite colour purple for the wedding reception so ananya matched the reception invitation to the colour she was going to wear.

If couples are on a tight budget what special offers are you currently providing?

For readers of And All Things Nice, we will give a 10% discount on any bespoke wedding invitation orders placed by 18th September if you quote ANANYA10

What makes a perfect wedding day?

A perfect wedding day always depends on the people. It doesn’t matter where or when the wedding is, as long as everyone is enjoying themselves and if the couple and guests feel as if they have been completely catered for then that will make the day more enjoyable for them. After all, the bride and groom need to enjoy their special day too!
